This booklet/moodboard was made for the film called: The Story of My Wife, a feature film by Ildikó Enyedi based from a novel by Milán Füst.
A note from the director about the visual language of the film:
Our source of inspiration are the great photographers of the era, who experimented freely and joyfully with new ways of expression. The twenties, photographed with the raw directness, the bold freedom by Brassai, Kertesz, Capa etc. Unusual, extreme camera angles, strong lights and shadows, contrasts, the mix of abstract and documentary like – we intend to liberate the visual world of our film from the nostalgic tradition established by countless films set in this period, by the candor and energy of these artists.
